Dual diagnosis rehabs are facilities which provide rehabilitation to deal with both addiction and mental health issues concurrently. Dual diagnosis is a very common situation for individuals involved in drug abuse, as people who have mental health issues often self medicate with drugs and alcohol to to feel some sort of short-term respite from their disorder. Dual diagnosis clients also reap the benefits of behavioral rehabilitation which helps them develop more effective coping mechanisms so that they are better able to handle life circumstances well when they leave dual diagnosis rehab as opposed to returning to drugs as a possible option.
