Medicare is a type of medical insurance developed by the federal government for senior citizens, and also those that have certain disabilities and sicknesses. When someone that has Medicare needs rehabilitation for instances of drug or alcohol abuse, their rehabilitation will be either covered fully by their Medicare health insurance or to a great degree. The one exception is, the person must obtain treatment from the drugs and alcohol detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be allowed to begin rehabilitation, they will also have to visit their doctor who must state that rehabilitation services are medically essential, and the doctor will usually approve which kind of rehabilitation the person will take part in. Medicare Part An and Part B cover several types of rehab providers. Medicare Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted facility when the individual has to be hospitalized for problem, and also the costs that they will have to cover personally are identical to any other stay in a hospital. Medicare Part B will partially cover outpatient treatment within a Medicare accepted facility, and the individual will have to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't pay for with supplemental insurance or they will have to self pay.
