TRICARE is health care insurance which is offered to members of the military of the United States. Substance abuse within the military is more common than one would imagine, and the necessity to provide rehabilitation to these individuals is an important priority. TRICARE covers a number of rehab services to handle drug and alcohol dependence such as detox services, as well as rehab in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. People who have TRICARE will of course be required to obtain a prior approval before taking part in any sort of rehabilitation service, which can be organized using a regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient program is the favored rehabilitation choice, TRICARE will cover a three week period or one inpatient stay in that program per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are certain limits about how much time a TRICARE member can stay in an inpatient program that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30 to 45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family counselling which is often very helpful, as it could help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery. No person in the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are skilled rehab counselors ready to assist you today.
