TRICARE is medical insurance that is offered to folks in the armed forces of the United States. Substance abuse within the military is more common than one would think, and the need to offer treatment to these individuals is a vital priority. TRICARE covers a number of rehab services to cope with alcohol and drug dependence such as detox services, and also treatment in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. People with TRICARE will of course be required to obtain a prior approval before taking part in any type of rehab service, which can be arranged with their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient facility is the preferred rehab choice, TRICARE will cover a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in this particular center per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are particular limits regarding how long a TRICARE member can stay within an inpatient program that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30-45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy which can be very useful, as it may help include loved ones in the healing and recovery process. No person in the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are professional treatment counselors ready to help today.
