TRICARE is health insurance that is offered to people in the armed forces of the United States. Drug and alcohol use within the military is more common than one would assume, and the necessity to provide rehab to these individuals is a vital priority. TRICARE covers a variety of treatment services to address alcohol and drug dependence such as detox services, in addition to treatment in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. Individuals with TRICARE will naturally have to obtain a prior approval before taking part in any sort of rehabilitation service, which can be arranged using a regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient program is the preferred rehabilitation option, TRICARE covers 21 days or one inpatient stay in such a center per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are particular limits about the length of time a TRICARE member can remain in an inpatient program that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30-45 day window which is covered.
