Individuals who want to maintain a certain amount of flexibility within their lives can engage in an outpatient rehab should they need rehabilitation for substance abuse. Outpatient rehab enables the treatment client to take part in treatment services without the commitment you might normally have to agree to in an inpatient or residential drug treatment facility. This doesn't always work in the treatment client's favor however, specifically those individuals who need to solve significant substance abuse problems. So although an outpatient rehab may seem like an expedient possibility, it isn't for everyone. Those that decide on an outpatient rehab will usually take part in meetings and be a part of therapy and rehabilitation services part-time each day or a few days weekly. This is often helpful for many who have recently completed a much more comprehensive inpatient or residential program as an effective aftercare or upkeep step, or someone with only a short history of substance abuse which is really a very small number of clients. For an individual with more significant drug abuse and dependency problems, inpatient or residential drug treatment centers which offer rehab on a long-term basis will be the more advantageous rehabilitation choice.
