Medicare is a form of medical insurance created by the federal government for seniors, in addition to people who have certain disabilities and illnesses. If a person who has Medicare needs rehab for instances of substance abuse, their treatment will be either covered in full by their Medicare health insurance or to a significant degree. The only exception is, the person will need to acquire treatment from a drug rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be permitted to commence rehabilitation, they will also have to visit their medical doctor who must state that treatment services are medically needed, and the physician will generally approve what type of treatment the individual will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover a variety of rehab services. Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted facility in the event that the individual must be hospitalized for their issue, and the costs that they will have to cover personally are identical to every other stay in a hospital. Medicare Part B will partly cover outpatient rehabilitation within a Medicare accepted facility, and the individual will have to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't pay for with supplemental insurance or they'll have to self pay.
