Providing a safe and secure environment is key to ensure dual diagnosis clients can be comfortable and remain undistracted from circumstances that could cut across their program and progress. Treatment counselors will continue to work to identify environmental issues in the client's life including negative relationships or any other things which must be addressed in order for the person to remain mentally healthy and sober t once they leave dual diagnosis rehab. Dual diagnosis clients also benefit from behavioral rehabilitation which will help them develop more effective coping methods so that they are able to better deal with life circumstances more proficiently when they depart dual diagnosis rehab rather than returning to alcohol and drugs as an inferior solution.
