Medicare is a form of health care insurance designed by the federal government for seniors, and also people with specific disabilities and illnesses. If an individual who has Medicare needs rehabilitation for cases of drug or alcohol abuse, their treatment will either be covered in full by their Medicare health insurance or to a great extent. The only catch is, the individual must receive treatment from a drug rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the individual will be allowed to commence rehabilitation, they will also have to visit their medical doctor who must declare that treatment services are medically necessary, and the physician will generally approve what type of rehab the individual will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover a variety of treatment services. Medicare Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted program when the individual needs to be in a hospital for his or her problem, and also the costs that they will have to cover personally are identical to any other hospital stay. Part B will partially cover outpatient treatment in a Medicare accepted center, and the individual will have to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't pay for with supplement insurance or they will have to self pay.
