Those that have TRICARE will naturally need to obtain a prior authorization before taking part in any type of rehab service, which may be organized using a regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient program could be the favored rehab option, TRICARE will cover a three week period or one inpatient stay in that center per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are particular limits as to how much time a TRICARE member can stay in an inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30 to 45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family counselling which can be very beneficial, as it may help include loved ones in the healing and recovery process.
