Medicare is a type of medical health insurance developed by the U.S. government for older folks, in addition to people who have specific disabilities and illnesses. When someone that has Medicare needs rehabilitation for cases of drug or alcohol abuse, their treatment will be either covered fully by their Medicare health insurance or to a significant extent. The only exception is, the individual will have to receive treatment coming from a drugs and alcohol detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the individual will be allowed to begin treatment, they may also have to see their physician who must declare that rehabilitation services are medically needed, and the physician will generally approve which kind of rehab the person will take part in. Medicare Part An and Part B cover different types of rehabilitation providers. Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted program in the event that the individual needs to be in a hospital because of their problem, along with the costs that they will have to pay for personally are the same as every other stay in a hospital. Medicare Part B will partly cover outpatient rehab inside a Medicare accepted center, and the individual will have to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't pay for with supplement insurance coverage or they will have to self pay.
