TRICARE is medical health insurance that's offered to people in the armed forces of the United States. Substance abuse inside the military is more common than one would think, and the necessity to provide rehab to these individuals is a vital priority. TRICARE covers many different rehab services to handle drug and alcohol dependence such as detoxification services, along with rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient facilities. Those that have TRICARE will of course be required to have a prior authorization before taking part in any sort of rehab service, which can be organized using their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient center could be the favored treatment option, TRICARE covers 21 days or one inpatient stay in such a center per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are certain limits concerning just how long a TRICARE member can remain within an inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30 to 45 day window that's covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy which can be very useful, as it may help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery.
