TRICARE is health insurance that is provided to people in the armed forces of the United States. Substance abuse within the military is much more common than one would imagine, and the need to offer rehab to these individuals is an important priority. TRICARE covers a variety of rehab services to cope with drug and alcohol dependence such as detoxification services, in addition to treatment in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient facilities. Individuals with TRICARE will needless to say be asked to get a prior approval before taking part in any kind of rehab service, that may be arranged using a regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient program is the favored treatment option, TRICARE will cover a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in this facility per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are certain limits as to how much time a TRICARE member can stay in the inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30-45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy which can be very helpful, as it could help include family members in the healing and process of recovery. No person in the military should fight this battle alone, and there are expert rehab counselors ready to help today.
