Offering gender-specific treatment services has shown to be very useful in situations where conventional treatment settings have fallen short, such as dealing with situations within a women's life that are unique and distressing. Such issues may have to do with sexual abuse, physical trauma, psychological abuse, eating disorders, one's family and being a mother, or any other serious issues which can be specific to women. Research has revealed that women could also become involved in drug use more readily than men, and are more predisposed to sickness due to dependency issues than males because of this.
