To start with, detecting an alcohol and drug abuse problem among the hearing impaired is usually a challenge, as these individuals may make an attempt to hide their problem as a result of social stigmas that come with abusing drugs. Having said that, alcohol and drug treatment counselors who provide rehabilitation to hearing impaired individuals understand the challenges these clients face. ASL treatment services are of course a necessity, as are treatment services which address the unique challenges that hearing impaired individuals encounter. Group therapy offers a forum for important peer interactions to ensure that rehabilitation clients can know that they're not alone, and that there is hope to handle their problem with drugs and alcohol. Individual counseling services can be more tailor-made for everybody to ensure that their own challenges can be addressed in treatment.
