Hearing impaired men and women generally have an elevated risk of drug use issues due to their impairment, and rehab services must be available to them which cater to their circumstances. Having said that, drug rehabilitation counselors who offer rehabilitation to hearing impaired individuals understand the challenges that these clients face. ASL rehabilitation services are definitely a must, as are treatment services which address the unique challenges that hearing impaired individuals face. Group therapy offers a venue for important peer interactions so that rehabilitation clients can know they are not on their own, and that there is hope to resolve their challenge with drugs and alcohol. Individual counseling services could be more tailor-made for everybody so that their own personal challenges can be handled in rehab.
