Criminal justice client rehabs can be considered being a significantly better option than jail time or significant fines for those who have already been convicted of any type of drug or alcohol related crime. For example, someone who has been in prison for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol may qualify to get rehab services for their problem rather than serving time in prison. The judge might order that the individual receive rehab, either alone or together with other sentencing. The theory behind criminal justice client rehabs is that it is much more efficient and effective to invest time and energy into treatment than punishment. The signs and indicators seem to be quite positive, and criminal justice clients that experience rehabilitation have better chance of remaining out of the judicial system after treatment.
