Individuals who wish to maintain a lot of flexibility within their lives can engage in an outpatient rehab when they need treatment for substance abuse. Outpatient rehab enables the treatment client to participate in treatment services without the commitment one would ordinarily have to agree to within an inpatient or residential drug rehabilitation program. This doesn't always work in the rehab client's favor however, specifically those individuals who need to address substantial drug abuse issues. So while an outpatient rehab may seem like an opportune possibility, it isn't for everyone. People who do decide on an outpatient rehab will usually take part in meetings and be a part of therapy and rehab services on a part-time basis every day or a few days per week. This is very helpful for many who have recently completed a much more complete inpatient or residential program as a good aftercare or maintenance step, and someone with just a brief history of substance abuse which is usually a very small amount of clients. For an individual with more significant drug abuse and dependency issues, inpatient or residential drug treatment centers which offer treatment on a long-term basis will probably be the more beneficial rehabilitation choice.
