Offering gender-specific rehabilitation services has shown to be beneficial in situations where standard rehab settings have not meet expectations, for example dealing with situations in a women's life which can be distinctive and traumatic. Such difficulties may relate to sexual abuse, physical trauma, mental abuse, eating disorders, one's family and motherhood, or any other really serious issues which are particular to women. Studies show that women may also get embroiled in substance abuse more readily than men, and are more predisposed to illness due to addiction issues than males as a result.
