Individuals who would like to maintain a certain amount of flexibility within their lives can take advantage of an outpatient rehab if they need rehab for substance abuse. Outpatient rehab enables the rehabilitation client to take part in rehabilitation services with the same commitment one would ordinarily have to consent to in an inpatient or residential drug and alcohol rehab program. This doesn't often work in the treatment client's favor however, particularly for those individuals who need to resolve substantial drug abuse issues. So although an outpatient rehab might appear to be an expedient possibility, it isn't for everyone. Those who do choose an outpatient rehab will usually attend meetings and be a part of counseling and rehabilitation services on a part-time basis on a daily basis or several days per week. This is often helpful for many who have recently completed a far more extensive inpatient or residential program as a good aftercare or upkeep step, and someone with just a brief history of drug abuse which is really a very small percentage of clients. For an individual with more significant addiction and dependency problems, inpatient or residential drug rehab facilities which offer rehabilitation over a long-term basis will be the more advantageous rehab option.
