Medicare is a type of health insurance developed by the U.S. government for seniors, along with those that have certain disabilities and sicknesses. If an individual who has Medicare needs rehabilitation for instances of drug or alcohol abuse, their rehab will be either covered entirely by their Medicare insurance or to a significant extent. The only exception is, the person will need to receive treatment from a drugs and alcohol detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be permitted to begin treatment, they may also have to visit their doctor who must state that rehabilitation services are medically needed, and the physician will usually approve what type of rehab the individual will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover several types of rehab providers. Medicare Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted center in the event that the individual should be in a hospital because of their problem, along with the costs that they will have to cover personally are identical to any other hospital stay. Part B will partly cover outpatient rehabilitation inside a Medicare accepted facility, and the individual will have to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't cover with supplemental insurance or they'll have to self pay.
