TRICARE is medical insurance which is provided to people in the armed forces of the United States. Drug and alcohol use within the military is more common than one would imagine, and the need to provide treatment to these individuals is a crucial priority. TRICARE covers a variety of treatment services to deal with drug and alcohol dependence like detoxification services, along with rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. Those that have TRICARE will obviously be required to get a prior approval before partaking in any sort of treatment service, which can be organized using a regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient center will be the preferred rehab choice, TRICARE covers twenty-one days or one inpatient stay in that facility per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are certain limits about how much time a TRICARE member can stay within an inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30-45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family counselling that may be very useful, as it can certainly help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery.
