TRICARE is medical health insurance which is provided to people in the military of the United States. Drug and alcohol use inside the military is much more common than one would imagine, and the need to offer rehab to these individuals is a priority. TRICARE covers a variety of rehab services to address alcohol and drug dependence like detox services, along with rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient facilities. People who have TRICARE will obviously be asked to obtain a prior authorization before taking part in any kind of treatment service, which may be organized using their regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient facility is the favored rehabilitation option, TRICARE will cover a three week period or one inpatient stay in such a program per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are specific limits as to how much time a TRICARE member can remain in an inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, then there is typically a 30 to 45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy which may be very beneficial, as it could help include loved ones in the healing and recovery process. No member of the military should fight this battle alone, and there are expert rehab counselors standing by to help today.
