Individuals who wish to maintain a lot of flexibility in their lives can take advantage of an outpatient rehab if they need treatment for substance abuse. Outpatient rehab allows for the treatment client to take part in rehab services without the commitment one would ordinarily have to agree to within an inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehabilitation program. For someone with more significant drug abuse and dependency problems, inpatient or residential drug treatment facilities which offer rehabilitation on a long-term basis are going to be the more effective rehabilitation alternative.
