TRICARE is health insurance that is offered to folks in the military of the United States. Substance abuse within the military is more common than one would assume, and the need to offer rehab to these individuals is a priority. TRICARE covers a variety of treatment services to handle drug and alcohol dependence such as detox services, and also rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient facilities. People with TRICARE will naturally have to obtain a prior approval before partaking in any kind of rehab service, which may be organized using a regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient facility is the preferred rehabilitation choice, TRICARE will cover a three week period or one inpatient stay in that center per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are certain limits concerning just how long a TRICARE member can stay in an inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30-45 day window that's covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment which may be very useful, as it can certainly help include family members in the healing and process of recovery. No person in the military should fight this battle alone, and there are skilled rehab counselors waiting to help today.
