Medicaid is a health insurance available for those who are in certain income brackets which qualifies them to obtain this government funded insurance coverage. Whether a person qualifies for Medicaid doesn't only depend upon their earnings however, and people shouldn't assume they don't qualify because they earn a fair income. For example, individuals who have quite a few dependents may qualify for Medicaid even when they earn what can be described as a reasonable income. Medicaid can also cover the costs of treatment, if a person has been abusing drugs or alcohol and requires rehab. There are many drug rehab centers which accept Medicaid, but various states have distinct guidelines for what forms of treatment are covered. Certain states only cover outpatient rehab services for instance while other states cover far more intensive treatment say for example a residential stay in long-term alcohol and drug treatment program. If someone is involved with drug use and wants help, they are able to use their Medicaid insurance coverage to obtain this treatment. If they do not have Medicaid and in addition don't have the money or another form of medical health insurance to cover rehab, they could see if they are eligible for a Medicaid and then enroll in a drug rehabilitation center that is approved within their state.
