TRICARE is health care insurance that is offered to folks in the military of the United States. Drug abuse within the military is more common than one would imagine, and the necessity to offer rehab to these individuals is a priority. TRICARE covers many different rehab services to address drug and alcohol dependence including detoxification services, and also rehab in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient facilities. Those that have TRICARE will obviously need to have a prior authorization before taking part in any type of treatment service, which can be arranged with their regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient center could be the preferred treatment choice, TRICARE will cover 21 days or one inpatient stay in that program per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are specific limits regarding how long a TRICARE member can stay within an inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30-45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy that may be very helpful, as it can help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery. No person in the military should fight this battle alone, and there are expert rehabilitation counselors standing by to assist you today.
