Outpatient rehab will allow for the treatment client to participate in treatment services without the commitment you might normally have to agree to in an inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehabilitation program. This doesn't always work in the treatment client's favor however, specifically those clients who need to resolve significant drug abuse problems. So even though an outpatient rehab might appear to be a convenient possibility, it isn't for everyone. This is helpful for those who have just completed a more comprehensive inpatient or residential program as a good aftercare or upkeep step, and someone with only a brief history of drug use which is really a very small number of clients. For someone with more significant drug abuse and dependency problems, inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehabilitation centers that provide treatment over a long-term basis are going to be the more beneficial treatment option.
