A LGBT facility offers an environment which can be free from judgment, where LGBT clients can be totally safe and comfortable divulging to their peers and rehabilitation counselors issues which need to be handled in order to get well. Rehabilitation counselors within a LGBT rehab can help clients fix relationships with their family members, in the case their loved ones disagree with their sexual choice as is usually the case. This situation is an extremely frequent trigger for substance abuse, and is also a good example of something will be handled in treatment. LGBT clients often only want to be accepted in their lives, and treatment will help them accept themselves and build confidence so that they can lead a healthy life free of drugs and alcohol.
