TRICARE covers many different rehabilitation services to handle drug and alcohol dependence including detoxification services, in addition to treatment in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. People who have TRICARE will needless to say have to obtain a prior approval before partaking in any kind of rehab service, which can be arranged using a regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient program will be the preferred treatment option, TRICARE covers a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in that program per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are specific limits as to how long a TRICARE member can stay in an inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, then there is typically a 30-45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment which is often very helpful, as it can certainly help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery. No person in the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are expert rehabilitation counselors standing by to assist you today.
