A group home for anyone who has tbeen involved with drug and alcohol abuse is a place which offers continual support and assistance for people in recovery. A group home is usually for troubled adolescents, but there are also group homes for those with a mental health disorder or who are experiencing behavioral difficulties for example. As opposed to sending those who are struggling with drug abusedrug use or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum or other similar place, a group home may help provide an acceptable environment to help sustain stability within their lives and have counsel and support at their fingertips 24/7. Residents in a group home might be involved in rehab services during residence, or could be taking actions to get their life setup outside of the group home in order to at some point live independently not in the group home. For instance, a troubled youth that has been in recovery or has recovered from substance abuse can try to get their GED or obtain work. A group home is certainly not a long-term or permanent answer, but it's a feasible temporary option for those who are attempting to get their lives back together.
