Medicaid is a form of medical insurance available for individuals who are in specific income brackets which qualifies them to obtain this government funded insurance. Whether or not somebody qualifies for Medicaid doesn't only determined by their earnings however, and people shouldn't assume they don't qualify because they make a good income. As an example, people who have many dependents may be eligible for Medicaid regardless of whether they make what might be described as a sensible income. Medicaid also can cover the expense of rehabilitation, if a person has been abusing alcohol or drugs and needs rehabilitation. There are many alcohol and drug treatment centers which accept Medicaid, but different states have different guidelines for what types of rehabilitation are covered. Some states only include outpatient rehabilitation services for instance while other states cover far more extensive rehabilitation such as a residential stay in long-term alcohol and drug treatment program. If someone is involved in drug abuse and needs help, they're able to use their Medicaid health coverage to obtain this treatment. If they do not have Medicaid and in addition don't have enough cash or another type of health care insurance to cover rehab, they could check if they are eligible for a Medicaid and then enroll in an alcohol and drug rehab center that is approved inside their state.
