Medicare is a form of health insurance created by the federal government for older persons, as well as people with specific disabilities and sicknesses. If a person who has Medicare needs treatment for cases of substance abuse, their rehab will either be covered completely by their Medicare insurance or to a significant extent. The one exception is, the person must obtain treatment from the alcohol and drugs rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be allowed to commence rehab, they may also have to see their medical doctor who must state that treatment services are medically needed, and the doctor will typically approve what type of treatment the person will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover different types of treatment providers. Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted center in the event that the individual needs to be hospitalized for his or her problem, and also the costs which they willwill have to cover personally are identical to every other stay in a hospital. Part B will partially cover outpatient treatment in a Medicare accepted center, and the individual will have to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't pay for with supplemental insurance coverage or they will have to self pay.
