A group home for anyone who has tbeen involved with alcohol and drug abuse is a facility which offers continual support and help for people in recovery. A group home is usually for troubled youth, but there's also group homes for those with a mental health disorder or who are encountering behavioral trouble for example. Rather than sending individuals who are struggling with substance abuse or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum or another similar facility, a group home might help provide an appropriate environment to help maintain stability within their lives and also have counsel and assistance at their fingertips 24/7. People who reside in the group home could be getting involved in rehabilitation services during residence, or may be taking actions to get their life setup outside of the group home so that they can at some time live on their own not in the group home. For instance, a troubled youth who may have been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can try to get their GED or obtain work. A group home is not really a long-term or permanent option, but it is a practical short-term option for individuals who making the effort to get their lives back together.
