A group home for a person who has tbeen involved with drug and alcohol abuse is a place which offers continuous support and assistance for people in recovery. A group home is typically for troubled youth, but there are also group homes for folks with a mental health disorder or who are experiencing behavioral trouble for example. As opposed to sending individuals who are struggling with drug abusedrug use or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum or other similar facility, a group home can help offer an acceptable environment to help individuals maintain stability inside their lives and still have counsel and support at their fingertips around the clock. People who reside within a group home might be getting involved in rehab services whilst in residence, or could be taking measures to get their life setup outside of the group home in order to at some time live independently outside the group home. As an example, a troubled youth that has been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can try to get their GED or obtain employment. A group home is not really a long-term or permanent option, but it is a viable temporary option for many who making the effort to get their lives back together again.
