Providing a secure environment is vital so that dual diagnosis clients can feel at ease and remain free from distraction from things which could compromise their treatment plan and development. Rehab counselors will continue to work to spot environmental issues in the client's life such as negative relationships or other things which have to be addressed in order for the person to stay mentally healthy and sober t whenever they leave dual diagnosis rehab. Dual diagnosis clients also reap the benefits of behavioral rehab which will help them develop more efficient coping mechanisms so that they are able to better handle life situations more effectively once they leave dual diagnosis rehab as opposed to returning to drugs and alcohol as a possible solution.
