Medicare is a type of medical insurance created by the U.S. government for older persons, along with those that have certain disabilities and illnesses. If a person that has Medicare needs rehabilitation for cases of substance abuse, their rehabilitation will be either covered fully by their Medicare health insurance or to a significant degree. The only catch is, the individual will have to acquire treatment from a drugs and alcohol detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the individual will be allowed to start rehab, they may also have to see their primary care physician who must declare that rehabilitation services are medically needed, and the doctor will generally approve which kind of rehabilitation the individual will take part in. Medicare Part An and Part B cover several types of rehabilitation services. Medicare Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted facility when the individual should be in a hospital for his or her issue, and the costs which they willwill have to cover personally are identical to every other stay in a hospital. Medicare Part B will partly cover outpatient rehabilitation in the Medicare accepted program, and the individual will have to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't cover with supplemental insurance or they will have to self pay.
