Medicare is a type of medical insurance developed by the U.S. government for seniors, in addition to those that have certain disabilities and illnesses. If someone that has Medicare needs rehab for cases of drug or alcohol abuse, their treatment will either be covered in full by their Medicare health insurance or to a significant extent. The one catch is, the individual will have to obtain treatment from an alcohol and drugs detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the individual will be allowed to start treatment, they can also get to see their doctor who must state that rehabilitation services are medically essential, and the physician will generally approve which kind of rehabilitation the person will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover different types of rehab solutions. Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted facility if the individual must be in a hospital for their problem, and also the costs that they will have to cover personally are the same as every other stay in a hospital. Part B will partially cover outpatient rehab inside a Medicare accepted program, and the individual will have to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't cover with supplement insurance or they've got to self pay.
