Medicare is a type of health insurance created by the federal government for senior citizens, in addition to people who have certain disabilities and illnesses. If a person that has Medicare needs rehabilitation for cases of substance abuse, their rehabilitation will be either covered entirely by their Medicare health insurance or to a significant extent. The one catch is, the individual will have to obtain treatment from the alcohol and drugs rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the individual will be permitted to begin treatment, they can also get to see their primary care physician who must state that rehab services are medically essential, and the doctor will usually approve which kind of rehabilitation the person will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover several types of rehab services. Medicare Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted center when the individual needs to be hospitalized for problem, and also the costs that they will have to pay for personally are identical to any other stay in a hospital. Part B will partially cover outpatient rehab in a Medicare accepted program, and the individual will need to cover whatever Part B doesn't cover with supplemental insurance or they're going to have to self pay.
