TRICARE is health insurance that is offered to individuals in the armed forces of the United States. TRICARE covers a variety of rehabilitation services to cope with alcohol and drug dependence including detox services, as well as rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient facilities. Those that have TRICARE will obviously have to have a prior approval before taking part in any type of rehab service, which is often organized using their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient program is the preferred rehabilitation choice, TRICARE covers 21 days or one inpatient stay in this center per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are certain limits concerning how long a TRICARE member can stay in the inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30-45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment which may be very helpful, as it may help include family members in the healing and process of recovery.
