TRICARE is health insurance which is offered to individuals in the armed forces of the United States. Substance abuse within the military is much more common than one would imagine, and the need to offer rehabilitation to these individuals is a crucial priority. TRICARE covers many different treatment services to cope with alcohol and drug dependence such as detoxification services, as well as treatment in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient facilities. People with TRICARE will obviously need to have a prior approval before partaking in any sort of rehab service, that may be arranged with their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient center is the favored rehab choice, TRICARE covers 21 days or one inpatient stay in this facility per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are specific limits about how much time a TRICARE member can remain within an inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30 to 45 day window that's covered. TRICARE also covers family counselling that may be very beneficial, as it can help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery.
