Dual diagnosis rehabs are facilities which deliver rehabilitation to address both addiction and mental health concerns concurrently. Dual diagnosis is an extremely common situation for those involved with drug abuse, as those that have mental health issues frequently self medicate with alcohol and drugs to to feel some form of temporary respite from their disorder. In a dual diagnosis rehab, rehabilitation professionals can help men and women using a comprehensive treatment plan all geared towards restoring and stabilizing mental, emotional and physical health while addressing drug abuse concerns. Offering a safe setting is key to ensure dual diagnosis clients can be at ease and remain free from distraction from things which could cut across their program and progress. Rehab counselors will continue to work to spot environmental issues in the client's life including negative people in their lives or any other things that should be addressed in order for the person to be mentally healthy and sober t after they leave dual diagnosis rehab. Dual diagnosis clients also benefit from behavioral rehabilitation which helps them develop more efficient coping mechanisms so they are better able to handle life situations more proficiently once they leave dual diagnosis rehab as opposed to returning to drugs and alcohol as an inferior answer.
