Medicare is a type of medical insurance designed by the U.S. government for older folks, along with people who have specific disabilities and diseases. When someone who has Medicare needs treatment for instances of drug or alcohol abuse, their treatment will either be covered in full by their Medicare health insurance or to a significant extent. The only exception is, the person will need to receive treatment from the alcohol and drugs rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the individual will be allowed to start rehabilitation, they may also have to visit their primary care physician who must declare that rehabilitation services are medically necessary, and the physician will typically approve which kind of rehabilitation the individual will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover various kinds of treatment providers. Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted program if the individual must be in a hospital for their problem, and the costs that they will have to cover personally are the same as every other stay in a hospital. Medicare Part B will partly cover outpatient rehabilitation inside a Medicare accepted program, and the individual will need to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't pay for with supplemental insurance coverage or they'll have to self pay.
