TRICARE is medical insurance that's offered to members of the armed forces of the United States. Drug abuse inside the military is more common than one would assume, and the necessity to provide rehab to these individuals is a priority. TRICARE covers a number of rehab services to deal with drug and alcohol dependence like detoxification services, as well as treatment in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. Individuals with TRICARE will of course need to get a prior approval before partaking in any sort of rehabilitation service, that may be arranged using a regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient facility will be the preferred treatment choice, TRICARE covers a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in that center per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are specific limits as to just how long a TRICARE member can remain in an inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30-45 day window that's covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment which is often very helpful, as it can help include family members in the healing and recovery process.
