TRICARE covers a number of rehab services to address alcohol and drug dependence such as detox services, in addition to rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. People who have TRICARE will obviously be required to get a prior authorization before partaking in any type of rehab service, which is often arranged using their regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient program will be the favored rehabilitation option, TRICARE will cover a three week period or one inpatient stay in such a program per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are particular limits as to just how long a TRICARE member can remain in an inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, then there is typically a 30-45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family counselling which is often very useful, as it can help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery.
