Dual diagnosis rehabs are programs which provide treatment to address both mental health and addiction concerns at the same time. Treatment counselors will work to identify environmental factors in the client's life including negative people in their lives or other things that need to be addressed in order for the individual to remain mentally stable and sober t once they leave dual diagnosis rehab. Dual diagnosis clients also benefit from behavioral treatment which helps them develop more efficient coping mechanisms so that they are able to better handle life circumstances more effectively once they depart dual diagnosis rehab instead of returning to drugs as a possible answer.
