Medicare is a type of health insurance created by the federal government for seniors, in addition to people who have certain disabilities and illnesses. If a person who has Medicare needs rehab for cases of substance abuse, their rehab will be either covered completely by their Medicare health insurance or to a significant degree. The only catch is, the individual will have to receive treatment coming from a drug rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be permitted to start rehabilitation, they will also have to see their physician who must state that rehab services are medically needed, and the doctor will generally approve which kind of treatment the person will take part in. Medicare Part An and Part B cover a variety of treatment providers. Medicare Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted facility in the event that the individual needs to be in a hospital because of their problem, as well as the costs which they willwill have to cover personally are the same as any other hospital stay. Part B will partially cover outpatient rehab in a Medicare accepted program, and the individual will have to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't pay for with supplemental insurance coverage or they're going to have to self pay.
