Individuals who wish to maintain some flexibility within their lives can engage in an outpatient rehab when they need rehabilitation for drug or alcohol abuse. Outpatient rehab will allow for the rehabilitation client to take part in treatment services with the same commitment one would normally have to consent to in an inpatient or residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation center. This doesn't often work in the treatment client's favor however, particularly for those clients who need to resolve substantial substance abuse issues. So even though an outpatient rehab might appear to be an opportune possibility, it isn't for everyone. People that do choose an outpatient rehab will ordinarily take part in meetings and take part in therapy and rehabilitation services on a part-time basis daily or several days weekly. This can be very helpful for many who have recently completed an even more comprehensive inpatient or residential program as a good aftercare or upkeep step, or someone with only a brief history of drug abuse which is usually a very small amount of clients. For someone with more significant drug abuse and dependency issues, inpatient or residential alcohol and drug treatment centers which provide rehabilitation on a long-term basis will be the more effective rehab option.
