TRICARE is health care insurance that is offered to members of the military of the United States. Substance abuse within the military is a lot more common than one would assume, and the need to provide rehabilitation to these individuals is a priority. TRICARE covers many different rehab services to address drug and alcohol dependence such as detoxification services, along with treatment in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. Individuals with TRICARE will naturally be required to have a prior approval before taking part in any sort of rehab service, which may be organized using their regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient center is the favored treatment choice, TRICARE will cover twenty-one days or one inpatient stay in that program per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are certain limits as to just how long a TRICARE member can remain in an inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, then there is typically a 30-45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family counselling which can be very helpful, as it can help include family members in the healing and recovery process. No person in the military should fight this battle alone, and there are professional rehab counselors ready to help today.
