TRICARE is medical insurance that's offered to members of the armed forces of the United States. Drug and alcohol use inside the military is much more common than one would imagine, and the need to provide rehab to these individuals is a priority. TRICARE covers many different rehab services to address drug and alcohol dependence such as detoxification services, as well as rehab in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. Individuals with TRICARE will of course be asked to get a prior authorization before partaking in any kind of rehab service, which can be arranged using a regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient program could be the preferred rehab option, TRICARE covers a three week period or one inpatient stay in this particular facility per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are specific limits about how much time a TRICARE member can stay in an inpatient program that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30-45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy which can be very helpful, as it can certainly help include loved ones in the healing and recovery process. No member of the military should fight this battle alone, and there are skilled rehab counselors standing by to assist you today.
